About the Author 

Hi everyone! My name is Matt Shin, I'm from New Jersey and am currently a rising sophomore at Georgetown University. I'm planning on majoring in Government, as well as double minoring in Chinese and Science, Technology, and International Affairs. As of right now I'm hoping to go to law school after college, and work in legal advocacy for Asian American rights.

I hope my work with 1882 this summer resonates with others as I tell my stories of growing up Asian. Navigating American society as an Asian American can been difficult at many times, but I hope that those reading my work find solace in knowing that they are not alone in these experiences. As I still work to explore and find meaning in my own Asian identity, I hope my posts inspire others to take a moment and do the same.
