Hi everyone! My name is Ellen and I am a rising senior at the University of Maryland, double majoring in History and Government, as well as double minoring in Chinese and Asian American Studies. This summer I will be interning with the 1882 Foundation as well as the Chinese American Museum, DC. At 1882, my primary role was to lead this group of interns in discussion topics related to Asian American youth and create ways to share their story. Each intern has written a short, personal blog post relating to a time where they felt "othered", as well as a longer, more journalistic style piece relating to a similar issue they mentioned in their original blog post.
